Training Programs that Change Lives
The mission of Richcroft is simple – to create opportunities and cultivate relationships to help people live their best lives. Through our mission, we seek to enhance and improve the lives of not only the individuals with disabilities we support, but our talented and compassionate team of more than 400 direct support professionals as well. After all, it is our team of DSPs who are working to create remarkable experiences for our supported individuals, which enrich their lives in many ways each and every day.
We believe that the employee experience is one of the driving forces behind providing the greatest quality of care and services to our supported individuals and over the past three years we have been diligently working to transform that experience here at Richcroft. We want to be an employer that places employee wants and needs at the center of what we do, along with the needs of those we serve. People are the greatest asset to every organization, and in addition to a fair wage, a healthy work-life balance, and recognition for their hard work, we believe that employees want opportunities for growth. According to a recent survey by LinkedIn, 94% of employees stay at a company that invests in their career development. In addition to increasing retention rates, it enhances productivity and improves morale.
That’s why each month, Richcroft hosts an all-day training for managers called Richcroft University, and once a year we bring in an external trainer to host a fun-filled day of learning for program managers, case managers and residential supervisors. This year, the training was held off-site at the state-of-the-art facility of our partner, First Financial Credit Union, and focused on leadership, team-building, and coaching skills for managers, as well as how to manage negative attitudes and bad behaviors. Our facilitator was Dr. Raechelle “Rae” Johnson, PhD., and the feedback we received from the training was tremendous!
Dr. Rae was so personable and informative on so many different topics that will help all of us grow as managers. Please bring her back!

In addition to our monthly Richcroft University, Richcroft also offers all staff the opportunity to participate in the National Association of Direct Support Professional’s E-Badge Academy. This program offers DSPs the opportunity to earn national certification demonstrating competency in the knowledge and skills that these professionals use every day. Richcroft pays a $1,000 bonus to all DSPs completing the DSP-1 certification, and over the past year, 10 individuals completed the certification from our inaugural class of graduates. This elite group was celebrated at a luncheon hosted by Richcroft’s CEO Kevin Drumheller. One graduate had the distinct honor of traveling to the White House to meet President Biden during the signing of an executive order of measures aimed at enhancing the lives of direct care workers across the country.
